The #23 state-ranked Avery Lady Bulldogs rolled over the McLeod Lady Longhorns 79-32 in a district game played in Avery on Jan. 20. The Lady ‘Dawgs (21-3) had a first quarter lead of 21-10 that stretched to 40-20 by half-time.
The Lady ‘Horns (7-15, 2-4) lost at home to Avery in the first round of district play, 59-29, on Jan. 3.
Katie Harding was high scorer for McLeod with 13 points that included two three-point goals. Kassidy Harris had five points for McLeod, while Morgan Lambeth and Jessica Keener each added four.
Rounding out the Lady Longhorns’ scoring Maggie Weaver, Casey Williams and Erin Weaver each had two points.
The McLeod Lady Longhorns played the Bowie Pirates (2-12) at home Tuesday, Jan. 24.
On Friday, Jan. 27, the Lady ‘Horns will be in Detroit to play the Lady Eagles.
McLeod previously defeated Bowie 44-32 on the road, Jan. 6, and four days later defeated Detroit at home 33-22.
