It's not going to be the Pizza Hut East Texans are accustomed too.
The traditional red roof, a decades-long icon of the Pizza Hut chain, will be co-branded with Wing Street in Ernie Stith's new Judson Road eatery. Thrown in will be a variety of Tuscany-style pasta dishes and a whole new lineup of sandwiches.
The Longview-based restaurateur recently announced plans to relocate his Judson Road Pizza Hut a few blocks south of its longtime location. Last week he said those plans include co-branding Pizza Hut with the Wing Street concept of Buffalo-style wings served in a variety of sauces.
Eric Ruff, with Ruff Realtors, is handling the transaction for the sale of the property.
The new site will also sport an Italian bistro theme. Stith said the new Pizza Hut will be the first of the chain's new prototype in Northeast Texas.
The closest restaurant following the same concept is in the Houston area. Stith hopes to have the restaurant, located north of New Orleans Gardens and south of Drake Street, open late this year.
Pizza Hut recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. Stith said his new franchised location will follow the company's "cityscape" design with plenty of landscaping on the outside and a whole new look inside, including exposed beams.
Brookwood transition
Debbie Vanvactor, owner of The Glitz Boutique in Brookwood Village on McCann Road, has outgrown her current location is moving to a bigger building in the same center.
As of Monday, The Glitz will be at 1416 McCann, just a few doors down from its previous spot at 1434 McCann Road. The space was formerly occupied by The Mud Hut, which moved to Fourth Street early this year.
Vanvactor's boutique will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays. She offers wedding gowns by Maggie Sottero and Raylia and other designers in sizes 0 to 32.

From the rubble
Demolition work in progress at the old Holiday Inn/Elm Brook Inn facility at 3119 Estes Parkway will result in an entirely new project rising from the rubble, according to Issa Boueri with Dallas-based Continental Commercial Investment.
Plans for developing the tract are still being fine-tuned but will likely include at least one new hotel project and perhaps two, Boueri said.
"You're going to see a big, big difference there," he said. "The development is going to be beautiful — really classy."
Boueri declined to comment further until the developer's plans are firmer. He said that would probably be sometime in August.
LaQuinta opening
On the home stretch of construction is Longview's north side LaQuinta Inns and Suites at 908 E. Hawkins Parkway where Trish Sanfilippo will be general manager.
Grand opening for the 70-room, three-story facility is slated for July.
