A truck sits near Lake Devernia in Clarksville City after being pulled from the lake. A man was later pronounced dead from the wreck.

Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Johnathan Anderson said an emergency call came about 4:10 p.m. The red GMC 3500 truck was traveling west near White Oak on U.S. 80 when the driver dropped a cell phone, attempted to pick it up and then lost control of the truck, Anderson said. The truck flipped over and was upside down in the lake. The White Oak and Clarksville City Volunteer Fire Department responded to the accident. Approximately six to eight people stopped and tried to help get the truck out of the lake.

No further information about the Weatherford and the driver was immediately available Friday evening.

Clarksville City crews were on site Friday afternoon repairing the water line. City Manager Billy Silvertooth Jr. said they hope to have the line repaired by the morning. In the meantime, residents should boil water for drinking and conserve water, he said.
