Senate, House adjourn sine die

The Texas House has just adjourned sine die, ending the special legislative session that began yesterday morning.

About five minutes earlier, the Senate passed House Bill 1, a road-building bond bill, the final vote on legislation during the special session, then itself adjourned sine die.

The special session began at 10 a.m. Wednesday and — at just under 30 hours in length — is one of the shortest in recent Texas history.

Is Texas better off than two years ago? NO!

Too worried about the next gov race.

Worthless.

The gov and leg should refund the state for the waste of a session.

No doubt the hookers and bar owners will be greatly disappointed by the speedy adjournment.

Perry is NO king..he is a PUPPET. And that PUPPET is about 2 get its strings cut unless IT can figure out how 2 get the toll road bill back on schedule. His BIG donors..all those A&M graduates that work 4 Zachary.. are NOT happy with the latest developments & PUPPET depends on their contributions to win again.

“heck of a job Brownie”

Is someone filming a Western movie at the legislature? Why are they dressed up like cowboys? Cowboys rustle steer and cows. Big Dallas developers do not.

Cowboy hats are to keep the sun out of real cowboys eyes. Is it pretty sunny inside the State Capitol requiring fake cowboys to wear Hollywood wardrobe get up’s?

Too bad they don’t operate with that much efficiency during regular session.

Over? Already? Now that just fires me up. I hadn’t even gotten done with the paint drying on my protest signs and they have skeedaddled out of town. I guess I can go protest in front of the burned down Governor’s mansion — seeing as how its in the same shape as our economy. Truth be told - good riddance to those bums. Its a good day in Texas when the Legislature shuts its doors. I think we should put up more condos where the Guv lived and maybe even on that big lawn out front of the Capitol - seeing as how you gotta have 9 forms of ID to get in and out of any place these days. Yeah I said it!

My problem with this is, why call a special session right before all sens/reps have fancy vacation plans? I wonder if its because they would be “motivated” (sarcasim) to get this over b4 they spen their hard-earned vacation time? Why not wait a week b4 eveyone has their Mecixo/Europe vacations out of the way?

Silly pols.

Thank God!!!

Hopefully, we are safe for another 2 years —- unless Perry is dumb enough to call them back for another special session.

“Down with the King [Perry], long live the Queen [Hutchison]!!!
