Dancing With the Stars

Dancing with the Stars is a contest featuring area students dancing to the hits of the 40's to raise funds for Where Were You in '42?, an intergenerational program benefiting the Heritage House Senior Citizen Center. Students are paired with a local "celebrity" and provided lessons in the ballroom dance of their choice. The event provides an evening of entertainment while helping to raise funds for the program.

Cha Cha Cha

I tittled this blog “cha cha cha”, because that is the dance that Sal is hoping to teach me and my partner, Bart, to perform. I should say me rather than my partner, because Bart is doing a great job! This has been a wonderful experience. I actually look forward to practice.

Paso Doble

Hello Everyone, I am Carmen, a student dancer at Pine Tree High School. My partner is Kerry Hill with Longview News Journal. We are performing in Dancing with the Stars and are extremely excited.

Dancing the Paso Doble is tough. Never in my 3 years of dance have I experienced such a hard dance to catch on to.There is so much passion and intensity. It is very much a love-hate type of dance. Though the dance is tough, Sal is working with us A LOT to help make sure we get the steps.

There seems to be a a large amount of competitiveness amongst us. All are determined to win. Though right now, we are all still falling on our bottoms.
