Pinewood Park transfer status clouded
Longview Independent School District administrators say they want to continue to honor parents’ requests, despite a federal order limiting transfer options for students of a soon-to-close South Longview school.
The U.S. Department of Justice has approved the closing of Pinewood Park International Education Magnet School, which serves first-, second- and third-grade students. The closure still needs Texas Education Agency approval, and school administrators expect an answer before school starts Aug. 25.
Should Pinewood Park students be allowed to attend any LISD school?
