Employees for county get health choice
Gregg County employees soon will be able to get health care at Longview Regional Medical Center and Good Shepherd Medical Center without any financial penalty.
Gregg County commissioners approved a contract Thursday with Tyler-based health benefit administrator Health First. The benefits provided by Health First will allow county employees to access the two local health systems at the same rate.
What do you think of the arrangement?

Is the county going to pay at a fixed coinsurance rate? The users of the hospitals need access to the after discount cost of services to help control the expenses. The idea to encourage local care is novel and should be welcomed by the Longview medical community. Let’s just hope this also helps local taxpayers.
