American Eagle jet service begins at East Texas Regional
The dawn of a new era in local commercial air travel suffered a cloudy start this week.
American Eagle Airlines introduced new 50-seat regional jets to East Texas Regional Airport shortly after 10 a.m. Wednesday.
After three unsuccessful attempts to land Tuesday, heavy fog forced the turbo prop plane to turn back to Dallas. Virginia Hall, the airport’s general manager, said the pilot could not see a minimum of 800 feet to the runway surface, forcing the flight’s cancellation. It was supposed to be the final landing of a turbo prop plane from Dallas to Longview.
Do you think the jets will be of greater convenience to East Texas travelers?
