Evacuees head home
Most of the evacuees who came to Longview fleeing Hurricane Gustav had left by early Wednesday afternoon.
“Things went much smoother this time than they did during the evacuations for Katrina and Rita,” said Officer Kevin Brownlee, public information officer for the Longview Police Department. “We learned from those experiences and were able to make adjustments that made the process easier for everybody.”
