Longview OKs Hudson portables
Hudson PEP is heading west — at least for 18 months.
Longview school district trustees voted Thursday to either purchase or lease four portable buildings to be used at the former Pinewood Park elementary school and another portable building for Everhart school.
Hudson PEP School students and staff members will move to the Pinewood Park campus in December and will stay there at least through June 2010, while the district demolishes the existing Hudson building and constructs a new 86,500-square-foot school on that site. Pinewood Park International Education Magnet School was closed by trustees this summer because of low enrollment and low performance on state achievement tests.

I think it is a shame that we are building a school right back where the old one stands when it is in a terrible part of Longview. When I have been walked out in front of going down the road and mouthed at with my kids in the car after picking my child up from after school activites I have reason to complain. If we have a school that is in the top 4% of our state how is it that we can’t come up with another location that is safer for our bright children??
