Get in the car to experience fall in East Texas
Splashes of red, dabs of orange and shades of yellow and brown leaves have painted the East Texas skyline. Fall is here, and with it some of the most beautiful natural scenery in the state.
Officials with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department report that maple trees are starting to shed their leaves, while oaks are just beginning to change colors.
Area officials and Longview News-Journal staff writers share some of their favorite fall foliage destinations. But you’d better hurry. Most of the trees will shed many of their leaves before Thanksgiving.
