Bulldogs win
The Carthage Bulldogs advanced to the Region III finals with a 5-3 win over Taylor on Saturday, completing a sweep.
Carthage ended the contest with a 6-4-3 double play after Taylor got men on first and third with one out and cleanup batter Jordan Sefek due up.
Crispin Stanley earned the pitching win for the Bulldogs, running his record to 8-0.
In Pollok, White Oak trails New Waverly, 5-1, heading to the fourth inning. Jackson McCurdy has a solo home run to account for the lone White Oak run.
