Panthers/Roughnecks moving on (7:34 p.m.)
In Hudson, the top-ranked Spring Hill Panthers bounced back from an early defeat on Saturday to earn a 12-6 win over Bridge City in the third-and-deciding game of a best-of-three Region III semifinal.
Dylan Brown earned the pitching win and finished 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI to pace the Panthers in the deciding game.
Spring Hill will now face Carthage next week in the Region III finals, with a berth in the UIL State Tournament on the line.
In Pollok, White rebounded from a 2-0 loss on Thursday to win twice today.
In the deciding game, Blake Ware tossed a four-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts in a 4-0 win.
The Roughnecks will move on to face District 18-2A rival Harleton next week in the Region III semifinals with a berth in the state tournament on the line.
