Elysian Fields falls in 2A semifinals (3:30 p.m.)

In Austin, Brock earned a 1-0 win over Elysian Fields in a Class 2A state semifinal. Brock scored a run on three hits in the bottom of the seventh inning, using a one-out double to spark things and winning it on an infield single that bounced over pitcher Blair Hickey’s head to plate the lone run of the game. Brock improves to 32-6 and advances to the state title game, set for 11 a.m. on Saturday against either Early or Hallettsville. Elysian Fields ends its season with a record of 31-8.
