A hunter checking on his Cass County deer lease Monday afternoon found the remains of a human head.
According to our news partner KETK, Cass County Sheriff Larry Rowe said at about 1 p.m. the hunter from Dallas was walking on the land off FM 2971 when he found the body part and called authorities.
Officials found clothing in the area and other belongings in nearby woods.
"We have no missing persons reports in the county, but we have a pretty good idea of whose head it is," Rowe said.
Rowe said the head had been in the woods for about two to two-and-a-half months. Foul play does not seem to be a factor.
