Sometimes the strangest things pop into my head. Usually I’m by myself and I have no one to share them with except my cat and I have a feeling she thinks I’m a hack. (By the way, is it just me, or is it unusual to have a cat roll their eyes when you speak?) My kitty does it all the time. This usually happens when I talk about my aversion to any food that comes from a body of water, (because some day when they find, and then destroy, the Loch Ness Monster, it’s a sure bet you are going to hear about someone somewhere ordering filet of Loch Ness or Loch Ness nuggets, and I just don’t want to know about it). I’ve also seen my son’s eyes glaze over when I go off on a tangent about animals advertising products on TV. Do we really want to see raccoons selling laundry detergent, bears recommending toilet paper, or buy car insurance because a gecko has a dreamy British accent? And what does it say about me that I have a mild attraction to a gecko because he sounds like Colin Firth?
When it all comes down to the wire, Chaska Norwood has it all; glitz, glamour and two stellar stores, one in Longview and one in Dallas. Both the stores have gorgeous fashion and accessories for today’s women.

Are you looking for that professionally “lit” look? One of makeup’s newest and frankly, hottest trends, is facial highlighter. Technically it isn’t “new,” but it’s come a long way in the cosmetic realm, and now that make-up artists know how to use it, it’s become a woman’s best friend.

Being trendy today has nothing to do with designer shoes, quick diets or fake fur. The latest status symbol for 2011 is biker chic. Of course, like many fads, there are two ways to go about this: you can become a biker - or you can just look the part.
As you de-clutter closets, and purge your home of all things deemed dispensable, ‘green’ your spring cleaning, by using a Purge, Donate, and Recycle system (similar to the three ‘Rs’: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle).
When you walk up toward Paula Davis’ new gallery from the parking lot, it makes a statement before you even step inside. Situated on the second level of Longview’s Guthrie Creek office complex, P’s Gallery has a floor-to-ceiling window that can be seen from the street — one that beckons patrons to come inside and view the ornate sculptures planted throughout the gallery and gaze at the vibrantly colored artwork hung purposefully along the walls.
If you’re one to cringe at the thought of peeling, and eating crawfish, we ask that for this seasonal Charm School, you set aside all preconceived notions, and just try them! Unless, of course, you’re allergic, or simply have a strong disliking of seafood.

Born in Mexico City in 1975, Sanchez, his mother, and four younger siblings, came to Longview in 1981 as an immigrant family. “My father worked in Gilmer at a dairy, and in 1981 we came to America to be with him, and live the American dream.”
I love cheese. Now listen closely and you will hear a collective “Duh” sweeping in the wind from all the people that have ever known me. You might see me out in public and gather that I love cheese too, (and not vigorous exercise and a nice piece of broiled fish).
