Pursuit of Happyness, PG-13

"This movie starring Will Smith and his real-life son is the true story of a man living on the streets who pulls himself up and eventually works for a large investment firm. It's depressing yet inspiring. It makes you feel very fortunate about your own life situation, and proves that determination is the key to success, no matter what odds you're faced with. I felt that the movie began to drag and became a little redundant, but it was enjoyable overall. I wish the film offered a little more of the story after his success, but at least we were able to read about it before the credits rolled. All in all, I am very glad to have seen it."

Legally Blonde, PG-13

"This is the story of Elle Woods, a blonde who gets dumped by her high school sweetheart. Heartbroken, she decides to follow him to Harvard to win him back. She ventures out into the world and experiences difficult life circumstances, but ultimately finds herself -- and a better guy. Life throws us curve balls. Sometimes we are disliked, shunned, ridiculed and rejected. What we think we want is NOT at all what we were wanting after all. Once Elle follows her ex to Harvard, she's faced with negative things, but character-building traits are formulated into her personality through perserverance, hard work, determination and faith. She works her way through school and in the end she opens her eyes to a new future and a new beau. It's a cute movie with deep undertones that we each can relate to."
Kay McIntyre, 55, Longview

We Are Marshall, PG

"I can't say enough good things about this movie. My husband was expecting another 'football' flick but it was much more than that. It's about a town devastated by the tragedy of losing almost the whole college football team, its coaches and some prominent citizens in a plane crash. The community struggles to rebuild lives, overcome griefs and learn to trust again. Mathew McCoughney is awesome as a determined coach (with a lack of fashion skills) who helps the town heal. I recommend this movie to everyone because you not only get a 'football' movie with all of the stadium roars and hard hits, but you laugh, cry and have the urge to shout out 'We are Marshall!' as the movie ends."
Penny Tackett, 42, Marshall
