"The strangest thing in my purse is a purple pacifier left behind by my grandson, Colton! I guess he put it in my purse when he was visiting from Dallas. He’s two, and he’s the cutest little boy in the world!"
Kathie Green, 57, Longview

"I carry First-Aid kit and a pair of rubber gloves. My mom says you can never be too prepared, and people are always needing a Band Aid or something, especially little kids."
Lakeicha Thomas, 24, Longview

"I carry a pocketknife. It’s a small one and very ‘ladylike.’ It was sort of a family thing. My Dad always had a small knife, and my aunt (his sister) also carried one. My mom followed the tradition. Mine is a small Swiss Army knife, and it’s very useful."
Nola Hobbs, 67, Pittsburg

"The strangest thing I carry in my purse is baby powder. Everyone who knows me knows that I can’t leave the house without it. It helps me freshen up oily skin, and I have a phobia I might not smell 'fresh.'"
Stephanie Webb, 34, Longview

"I have a gadget called a Purse Brite in my purse. It’s a great organizer for everything that’s in my purse, from my pens to my cell phone. And, like the name implies, it comes with a clip-on light."
Wanda Etheridge, 69, Henderson
