Charm Challenge: Deep conditioning treatment

Friday, April 27, 2007

At times, Longview resident Cindy Terry, 32, has trouble managing her thick head of hair. She decided to turn to a local salon for a deep conditioning treatment to see if it would help tame her red locks.

"I'm a sucker for hair products and have been known to spare no expense to keep my locks looking good. So, naturally I jumped at the chance to try out a deep conditioning treatment at a local salon.

The conditioner was applied after a shampoo and I sat with it on my hair under heat for about 15-20 minutes. After a very light rinse, my stylist proceeded to blow dry my hair.

My naturally-curly hair can be a hassle to straighten, but the product left it soft and manageable. At the end of my visit, my hair had a definite sheen that it didn't have when I entered the salon. This conditioner promises to continue to produce the same effects over the next few weeks! As with most conditioning treatments, a regular regimen is recommended.

The treatment runs $45, which may or may not be something you want to commit to every six weeks.

While I enjoyed my experience and have noticed a slight improvement in my hair, I am not certain that a similar treatment might not produce similar results.

I would recommend the deep conditioning treatment to someone who needs intense hair therapy, but I would also recommend to that person a good cut and ongoing daily maintenance with nourishing products, which you can do yourself at home."
