"I love keeping in touch with my loved ones through handwritten letters and phone calls. Handwritten letters are becoming extinct in this day and age due to e-mail. Now, don't get me wrong! I love e-mail and I use it often, but there is something very special about receiving a handwritten letter in the mail that someone took the time to write and mail ... that is why I love writing and sending them to others."

"I keep in touch with my loved ones various ways. Thank goodness for AT&T! My parents are from Beaumont and they don't have a computer so I do a lot of calling, and I have a sister in Kountze who I either call or e-mail. Also, I am a proud grandmother, so you know I have to keep in touch by sending pics by snail mail or e-mail."

"I primarily stay in touch with long-distance loved ones through cell phones, but I also use e-mail. Like most people, I have a very busy mobile life and this allows me to keep in touch with them wherever I am."

"I stay in contact with long-distance loved ones mainly via e-mail and text messaging. They're very quick and unobtrusive ways to communicate."

"To stay in touch with long-distance loved ones I use my phone! The computer is great with e-mails and instant messages, but there is nothing like hearing their voices. My sister lives about three hours away and we only see each other about four times a year. I can be having a bad day and her voice will immediately cheer me up. It's the same with my grandmother and aunt. Just hearing their voices can drive the gloom away and make me feel loved."

"The only long-distance relative I keep in touch with regularly is my 24-year-old nephew. We text message often because it's so easy to use. I have unlimited text messaging, so that makes texting an affordable way to communicate with him."
Tabitha Johnson, 33, Jefferson
