Wednesday, December 31, 2008

Before February 1 even rolls around, you?ve probably made plans with a hot Valentine?s Day date and, chances are, you probably already have your outfit picked out. But what about your makeup?

V-Day is a great time to experiment with a fresh, fun new look, and the main thing to remember when creating your look is to be yourself. If you have never rocked a smoldering stare or a plump, red pout in your life and would feel silly doing so, that may not be the route to take. Instead, just punch up your regular routine.

The good news is you can create a few romantic looks easily with the right products. Charm stopped by Rumours Spalon and Merle Norman to find a variety of ultra-feminine looks for Cupid?s favorite holiday.

Natural Beauty

If you want a subtle, understated and effortlessly sexy look, go for a "less is more" approach. Rumours Spalon had just what we were looking for with their Bare Minerals line of cosmetics. Longview resident Emily Haynes was happy to show off her natural-looking glow.

To get Emily's look:

Emily first prepped her skin with some of Bare Minerals' best before-makeup cosmetics.

Bare Vitamins skin rev-er upper moisturizer, $21

Prime Time Eyelid Primer, $16

Bare Minerals Well Rested, $18 (to hide dark circles and brighten eyes)

Now comes the fun part! Here, Emily applied cosmetics that would give her eyes, skin and lips that natural look she was going for.

Bare Minerals Eyeshadow Glimpse in Moss, $13, applied to the bottom of her eyelid at crease

Bare Minerals Eyeshadow Glimpse in Cultured Pearl, $13, blended into crease with Moss and applied to brow line

Bare Minerals Eyeliner Brow Color in Brunette, $13, applied to the edge of eyelid, then lightly blended into shadow color

Bare Minerals Brow Color in Pale/Ash Blonde, $13, applied to eyebrows to darken the eyes

Bare Minerals Foundation in Fairly Light (SPF 15), $25

Bare Minerals Blush in Hint, $18

Bare Minerals Big Tease Mascara in Blackest Black, $15

Bare Minerals Buxom Lips Lip Gloss in Kanani, $18
