Wild, wild west
It can be referred to as Western, rustic, cowboy or cabin style, but whatever you call it, it’s a look that is as timeless as the Old West. An abundance of natural materials is key to decorating in this manner. The main ingredients for a rustic room are beautiful woods, polished logs and some leather. Throw a pair of antlers on the wall, and you’re good to go!

To incorporate rustic furnishings in your home, consider adding it in small amounts since it is very textural. A room full of this furniture may be a bit much, but, if a few pieces are added, it gives each item the opportunity to stand out and shine. Place this Texas-sized cowhide armoire in your bedroom to add some Western flavor. $2199.99 at Rustic Ranch in White Oak.

Old World
This style works well for a person who leans toward the traditional as opposed to contemporary look. By combining different European styles, you can achieve a warm, Old World feel without limiting yourself to one distinct era.

Transforming a living space into a classic old world style is a snap! The look is characterized by dark colors such as deep burgundy red, dark brown and lush greens. The accessories used are mostly European antiques and tapestries, and materials used are a combination of natural pieces like limestone and tile and dark-stained furniture pieces. This beautiful garden entry gate is a must for any Old World-themed backyard or garden area. $1250 at Electic Architecturals in Longview.

Eclectic look
If you were the kid who deliberately colored outside the lines, this is the style for you. It mixes elements from two or more decorating styles, so if you want a home where you don’t have to follow rules and are free to be yourself, this is what you’re looking for! The eclectic look is easiest to define by what it isn’t. For example, the style doesn’t rigidly adhere to any one major look, and is characterized by a freedom of expression and a vibrant individuality.

It gives you the opportunity to be creative by incorporating a variety of styles, which makes for a very exciting and interesting home. Get a pair of tall Lamu pillars at Eclectic Architecturals in Longview for $1,375.
