Charm Challenge: Eyebrow Threading

Wednesday, August 26, 2009

Eyebrow threading's claim to fame: It's the practice of shaping the eyebrows using a cotton thread. It's a very gentle, sanitary and painless way of removing unwanted hair. It is commonly practiced in the Eastern Asian countries, and it's made its way to America as one of the safest methods for facial hair removal. Threading is more precise and hair re-growth is thinner and slower. There is no burning, peeling or irritation.

"I was a little anxious about the procedure, but in the end, I thought it was worth it because I really liked the way my eyebrows looked. It feels weird at first just because it doesn’t feel like tweezing or waxing. It’s not the least bit painful, and I would definitely recommend eyebrow threading to everyone."

"It was my very first time to get my eyebrows threaded, and it was awesome! I love how thorough the threading process really is because it made my eyebrows look completely different. They’re very sexy!"

"I am a redhead with very sensitive skin. After skin irritation with waxing, I was introduced to threading. I find that threading is not as painful as waxing or plucking. As for price, threading is price-comparable to waxing. It is quick and very convenient. I recommend threading to anyone who has unwanted facial hair. I have even seen men have their eyebrows groomed to avoid having a unibrow!"

"I'm used to getting my eyebrows waxed every two to three weeks, and the experience can be painful. When I saw an eyebrow threading kiosk in the mall, I was a little skeptical of the process (especially with shoppers all around). I sat down to try it out, and the experience was pain-free AND my hair doesn’t grow back as fast as when I get my brow waxed. I recommend getting your brows threaded because once a person goes there, they'll never go back to waxing or tweezing again."

"This is an age-old beauty tool from the East. I think threading is better than other methods because it gives a clean cut and lasts longer. There are no chemicals involved, which is a definite plus! I think everyone should try it."
