Obsessed, PG-13

"This is a must-see movie. This film is about a successful, happily married executive who becomes the object of unwanted affection from a beautiful temp-worker at his company. Beyonce Knowles shows a lot of versatility in her role as the concerned wife of the man being stalked. This film reminded me of ‘Fatal Attraction.’ It kept me on the edge of my seat, and I was extremely entertained the whole way through!"

Ghosts of Gilfriends Past, PG-13

"'Ghosts of Girlfriends Past' is a comedy in which Matthew McConaughey plays a single, sexy male who loves the ladies but steers clear of commitment. While attending his brother's wedding, he manages to make a mess of things with his love-the-single-life attitude, and is suddenly taken back to his past of many girlfriends and haunted by the pain he has caused each of them. Through this journey, he discovers that he has feelings for his childhood sweetheart (Jennifer Garner) and realizes that a relationship is what he truly wants after all. I would not say this movie is a ‘must see,’ but, as always, Matthew McConaughey is great to watch."

"This was such a hilarious movie with non-stop laughs! Kay is a single, successful career woman who wants something more than anything else: a baby! So, she hires Angie to be a surrogate mother. Angie is a free spirit and is super funny! She really wants to have a baby for Kate, but something totally unexpected happens with the whole ‘baby mama’ ordeal. Get ready to laugh and laugh some more with this must-see chick flick!"

Scarpetta by Patricia Cornwell

"After relocating her forensic pathology practice to South Carolina, Dr. Kay Scarpetta's expertise is requested in New York City. Scarpetta joins forces with her husband, Dr. Wesley; computer-savvy niece, Lucy; New York's controversial sex-crimes prosecutor, Jamie Berger; and NYPD's finest, Pete Marino, in order to find the killer of a young, aspiring forensic pathologist. This novel takes you on a thrilling chase that leads you through cyberspace and psychiatric wards to an unsuspected plot. Cornwell novels are always exciting and very good reads."

The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch

" 'Time is all you have. And you may find one day that you have less than you think.' That's one of the many reminders you'll find in this awesome book written by a man who is dying just like the rest of us -- except he has been given a timetable. With this realization comes the keenness of all senses, the fine-tuning of life's lessons. With an unselfish desire, Randy Pausch shares lessons learned and teaches the reader to let go of uselessness and whining and make good use of this life, the opportunity to live and love and serve a purpose in our time here on earth. For me, this book has been a reminder that when it comes time for me to die, I want to be sure that I have lived my life to the fullest!"

The Trials of Mrs. Lincoln by Samuel A. Schreiner, Jr.

"I’ve always been interested in Mary Todd Lincoln. She was not looked on as one of the best First Ladies. After her husband's assassination, people convinced Mary's son that it would be in her best interest to have her committed to an institution for the mentally insane. After two years of living in absolute terror in an asylum, Mary found friends from her childhood. They worked hard over a period of months to see that she was granted a new trial. At the second trial, she was found to be of “a good mind” and released to her niece’s care in Springfield for the rest of her life. I cannot imagine the feelings and terror this woman went through in 1875. Thank goodness times have changed."
Suzanne Bartuska, Jefferson
