- 1/4/ cup Rose-water
Squeeze juice out of the cucumber with a lemon-squeezer, and mix with Glycerin and Rose-water.
NAIL WHITENING
Playing with different colors of nail polish is always fun, but sometimes we just want clean, natural-looking hands. If you've been wearing polish for an extended period of time, you may notice getting your nails back to their healthy hue isn't as simple dipping them into polish remover.
To whiten your nails that have stained over time, follow this simple recipe:
- 1 tablespoon 3 percent hydrogen peroxide
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- cotton swabs
- water
Mix the hydrogen peroxide with the baking soda thoroughly to make paste. Apply the paste to your nails, as well as under the tips, using a cotton swab. Let it penetrate for about 3 minutes before rinsing with warm water.
After you dry your hands, apply hand cream to maintain your nails' moisture.
SAY 'BYE' TO BAGS
Don't let dark circles or ' bags' keep your eyes from looking great in the mornings. Charm's put together some tips to help you look bright and fresh.
- Stay away from salt, alcohol and caffeine the night before.
- Get plenty of sleep. Lack of sleep tends to cause skin to become paler and reduce circulation.
- Treat you skin to a moisturizer or eye cream with vitamin K.
- Apply anything cool (a cucumber, chilled spoons or tea bags) to your eyes before leaving the house.
- Quit smoking. Smoking causes blood vessels to appear darker and more prominent.
- Drink lots of water to improve circulation.
- If all else fails, reach for a your makeup bag and dab a yellow of flesh-toned color concealer to camouflage the problem.
TIME TO TAME THE FRIZZ
Frizz can turn a great hair day into a total nightmare. After all, how we wear our hair is part of our overall look -- we want to appear sleek and smooth, not messy and unkept.
Here are some tips to help you live your life frizz-free.
Don't
- Try not to wash your hair every day. When you shampoo daily, you're stripping your hair of its natural oils, which actually increases the possibilities of frizz. Wash your hair every other day and see if you notice a difference.
- Don't use heated styling tools, such as hair dryers, curling irons or straighteners. However, if you must, always use a protective product on your hair beforehand.
Do
- Remember to use conditioner every time you wash your hair. Try to use a leave-in intensive conditioner on your hair every third wash. This will help replace any natural oils that your hair has lost.
- Get your hair cut regularly. If you go too long between cuts, split ends will sprout up, and they only add to your frizz problem.
- Splurge on a quality anti-frizz hair product. Following these tips will help, but using a good product will ensure your frizz-free days.
FOUNDATION TIPS
As you know, the right foundation can even out your skin tone and make your face appear practically flawless. Whether you're shopping around for the right one or you just want to know more about it, here are some quick tips on foundation:
- You'll probably need a different shade of foundation for each season, so don't use the same one all year 'round.
- Liquid foundation is usually water based and is best for dry skin.
- Apply translucent powder with a large cosmetics brush to "set" your foundation and keep it from running in humid weather.
- Powder foundation is ideal for oily skin and will help reduce shine.
- If your foundation is too heavy, add a couple drops of moisturizer to thin.
NAIL POLISH TIP
Keep the top of your nail polish bottle from sealing shut! Spray a bit of non-stick vegetable spray on a cotton swab and wiping it around the neck of the bottle before you close it.
CLEANING YOUR CLIPS
Use isopropyl rubbing alcohol to remove buildup of hairspray from your hair barrettes and bobby pins. Some megahold hairsprays cause the metal on these clips to tarnish. In the future, allow hairspray to dry completely before putting in your hair accessories.
HAIRSPRAY CLOGS
Ordinary rubbing alcohol will unclog the spray nozzle of a hairspray container when hot water isn't strong enough to do the trick! Just dip the nozzle into the rubbing alcohol, allow to sit for a few minutes, wipe off and spray away!
