    Keywords:
Every search can be enhanced by using the "Keyword Search" box. Type in a phrase that matches what you are looking to find. All ads matching the word or phrase EXACTLY will be displayed. For example, if you are looking for an air-conditioned house, and type in the words "air conditioning," all ads containing those words will be displayed. Ads that abbreviate air conditioning as "A/C" or "AC" would not appear, unless you searched specifically for those abbreviations.

If you are looking for two words side by side, simply type them as you hope to find them together. If you would like to search for ads containing more than one word anywhere in the body of the ad text, use the special word "and" between the keywords. For example, "river and property" will return you all ads that contain river and property, regardless of their relative positions. For a wider search, use a comma. The phrase "chimney, sweep" will return all ads that contain either word (or both). You may also use the "?" and "*" as wildcards where ? represents a single character and * matches word stems, as in "ing" and "ion".

Be aware that when using keywords you may be limiting the number of ads you find. If, for example, you search using the keyword "fireplace", you will not find ads that contain abbreviations of that word.

Ads may not contain all the information you are able to specify as search criteria. If you receive the message "There Were No Ads Matching Your Search Criteria" broaden your search criteria.

Here are some anomalies when searching text using keywords. In order to more accurately find certain words or phrases we have made 4 characters recognized as alpha-numeric characters. These characters are $ \ / ' . and must be accounted for if they appear immediately in front of or after a word being searched. The easiest way to account for them is to use the wildcard * described above. For example, you may type: mgr* to find the word "mgr." (this will also find all instances of the word "mgr" no matter what character may follow it or even when there are no other characters following the word).

Further keyword anomalies. There are two control characters that must be treated differently. They are "+" (plus sign) and "-" (minus sign). To find words that contain "+" you must type your keyword like this: "C++" (in other words, you must surround the word with double quotes!) To find words that contain "-" simply substitute spaces for the minus sign like this: 254 555 5555 (this is the only way to find telephone numbers)
