LHS students go to national technology competition
Seven Longview High School students are at the National Technology Student Association conference in Denver. They'll compete against about 5,000 students from the United States, Germany and Peru. The students qualified for the national competition by placing either first, second or third at the state meet in May.

The stress on the body is less and the benefits are many when certain types of exercises are done in the water, according to Gina Hester, water safety instructor at The Good Shepherd Institute of Health Living. With the summer heat prompting East Texans to take refuge in swimming pools and lakes, it is a prime time to capitalize on the benefits of swimming as exercise, Hester said.
