The world's most famous — and Christians' most important — mother never got a card. Neither did the many other mothers throughout the Bible.

Most of those mothers, Mary included, don't get much love from organized church. For the most part, she's a footnote to her son's glory. Not much different than today's moms.

Here's a little Bible mothers quiz to see whether you were paying attention in Sunday school. Name the mom:

1 The law of the Old Testament forbade a Moabite from entering the temple. Yet Solomon, the builder of the great temple in Jerusalem, descended from this Moabite.

2 She was so desperate to become a mother that she asked her husband to impregnate her servant Hagar, so she could become a mother through the servant.

3 This mom, fearing for her son's life, prepared a basket, put him into it and put the basket into the river, hoping that someone would find him and rescue him.

4 She was the second wife of Isaac and died in childbirth. Her first-born became the savior of his family, even though they had sold him into slavery.

5 After her sons and husband died, and without grandchildren, she decided to return to the land of her people. Her childless daughter-in-law accompanied her. When her daughter-in-law remarried and had a child, she considered him to be her grandchild.

6 When they were guests at a wedding, the host ran out of wine. She told her son to produce more wine for the guests, but he declined. She ignored him, telling servants to go to him and to follow his instructions. He obeyed his mother.

7 A Canaanite prostitute, she helped the Israelites conquer her people by hiding Israelite spies. She is listed as an ancestor of Jesus.

8 When Mary, who was pregnant with Jesus, spoke to her, the baby in her own womb jumped.

9 While she was praying in the temple for a child, the priest Eli rebuked her for being drunk. She later gave birth to Samuel, who became the servant of Eli.

10 She's the mother of a murderer and the Bible's first mother of a murder victim.
