Travis Jones of Longview was selected as one of 100 members of the Student Foundation at Baylor University.
The Student Foundation is an organization that builds community-minded leaders by entrusting students with recruiting other students, raising scholarship funds and building goodwill among alumni and students.
During the Student Foundation's nearly four decades on campus, the organization has awarded more than $4 millions in scholarship money.
Officer in honor society
Hollie Youngblood of Pittsburg, a student at the University of Texas at Tyler, has been named founding vice president of special affairs for the university's Mu Kappa chapter of the Beta Alpha Psi honor society, an honorary organization for financial information students and professionals.
Youngblood is majoring in accounting.
ETBU business team
A student team from the East Texas Baptist University's Fred M. Hale School of Business has placed in the Top 100: Overall Game-To-Date Score category of the Business Strategy Game for the week of Oct. 12.
The "Alapaap" team of Daniel Aldave and Julie Templin, ranked 57th among 3,277 teams from 223 colleges and universities.
The Business Strategy Game is an online exercise where teams are assigned the task of running an athletic footwear company against other teams. Company operations parallel those of actual athletic footwear companies.
Aldave is a senior international student from Manama, Bahrain. Templin is a senior from Marshall. Both students are candidates to graduate in December.
