Mental illness program

Community Healthcore has joined with the National Alliance on Mental Illness Greater Longview chapter to bring a new program to East Texas.

The NAMI program is titled "In Our Own Voice," according to Paula Hendrix, president of the Longview chapter.

The organization has two trained teams that can make presentations to civic, church, business and civic groups, Hendrix said.

For information or to schedule the program, call (903) 736-6411 or e-mail Hendrix at hxelectric@aol.com.

"In Our Own Voice: Living with Mental Illness" is offered at no cost. It is an education and recovery presentation given by trained presenters who are living full and productive lives while overcoming the challenges of their mental illness, Hendrix said.
