A woman was transferred to a local hospital following a two-vehicle wreck on Farm-to-Market Road 2625 Tuesday morning.
Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper John Smith said a woman traveling westbound in an orange Marshall pest control truck had attempted to make a left turn into the driveway of a residence when she was struck by a Kia Spectra. Smith said the man traveling in the Spectra had attempted to overtake her on the left lane.
"The driver of the (Spectra) stated she had her right turn signal on and he went to pass her on the left and she turned into him," said Smith. "But, looking at the truck, her left turn signal was still on when I got here."
Smith said he believes the woman was trying to turn around since she had missed her turn.
She was taken to Good Shepherd Medical Center-Marshall for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Spectra didn't appear to suffer any serious injuries.
The wreck, which was reported at around 10 a.m., occurred about seven miles from Elysian Fields and not far from where FM 2625 intersects with Farm-to-Market Highway 31. The wreck didn't appear to hamper traffic. Smith said both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
Smith issued a warning to drivers traveling in the area because of the amount of construction taking place.
"The main thing is people need to slow down and pay attention to what they're doing," said Smith.
