A meeting is Wednesday for all building contractors who might have an interest in the projects that could be paid for by Longview Independent School District's $266.9 million bond proposal.
Huckabee Inc., the Fort Worth consultant that was hired to oversee the whole project, will lead the meeting at 2 p.m. in the Education Support Center, 1301 E. Young St.

"The intent of the meeting is for us to meet with contractors and architects to give them the scope of the project, then discuss our selection process for the architects," said Tom Lueck, Huckabee's vice president of architectural services. "We also want to discuss delivery methods that the district might want to consider for construction and the construction time line."
Early voting began Monday on the bond package, with Election Day on May 10. If approved by voters, the $266.9 million would be used to construct eight schools and to build additions to three schools. All projects would be planned for completion by 2010 and 2011, the school district said.
