Longview woman gets 2 years for assault

FROM STAFF REPORTS

Friday, October 30, 2009

A Longview woman on Thursday was sentenced to two years in state prison after pleading guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in a Rusk County court.

Jessica Medford, 24, rammed her Toyota Avalon into Brittny Keith's Cadillac on July 17, 2008. Keith and five other passengers — Dawson Foster and four juveniles — were in the vehicle at the time of the collision. Because several passengers were seriously injured, Judge J. Clay Gossett found Medford's vehicle to be a deadly weapon. She is not eligible for parole. Medford is also accused of a similar assault in Longview. She was arrested March 2, 2008 after ramming her then-husband's vehicle on Interstate 20, officials said.
