Officials with the Lindale Rotary Club are seeking nominations for its “Merchant of the Year’’ award, scheduled to be presented at the Chamber of Commerce Awards and Installation Banquet April 23.
Nominations will be accepted through April 2.
The Rotary Club Award has been presented annually since 1991 to a Lindale area merchant who exemplifies the tenets of Rotary International set forth in the service organization’s “Four Way Test.’’
The nominees for the honor must have exhibited the high ethical standards called for in Rotary’s Four Way Test in their day to day business operations, Rotary officials said.
Although some of the previous winners have been business owners, it is not necessary to own the business to qualify.
Nominations should be writing and explain why the individual is being nominated and how that individual practices the principals outlined in the Four Way Test.
The merchant nominated does not have to be a Rotarian to be honored.
According to Rotary officials, the Four Way Test of the things we think, say or do consists of:
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOOD WILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
Nominations for Merchant of the Year can be mailed to:
