VAN – The Lindale Eagles boys basketball team had to overcome a first period deficit to defeat the Van Vandals, 53-43, in District 14-3A action Tuesday (Jan. 31) night.
The Eagles are now 21-7 on the season and 6-0 in district action, while Van slipped to 1-5 in league play.
Jordan Van De Kop scored 25 points to lead the Eagles, with Mason Perry scoring 8.
Other scorers for the Eagles included Josiah Johnson with 7 and Nick Butcher and Steven Young with 6 apiece.
At the half, Lindale had built a 28-26 lead then built that to 39-36 by the end of the third period.
Lindale now will take on Canton in the LHS gym Friday (Feb. 3).
