Roderick Wilson Anderson, 20, of Longview was released from jail Friday on $10,000 bond. Anderson was arrested at 11:15 p.m. Thursday after a traffic stop on Whaley Street at Teague Street, reports showed. Nineteen rocks of crack cocaine was found in Anderson's pants, reports showed.
Jimmy Ray Pepper, 51, of Longview remained jailed Friday on $6,000 bond, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and a warrant from Rusk County alleging criminal trespass. Pepper was arrested shortly before 2 a.m. Friday at his home in the 900 block of Second Street, after a person said Pepper threatened to cut his throat with a pocket knife before throwing the knife onto the ground, narrowly missing his foot, reports showed.
Tomichia Machayne Brooks, also known as Tomichia Machayne Kaunda, remained jailed Friday on $10,000 bond, charged with aggravated assault/family violence with a deadly weapon. Longview police arrested Brooks at her home in the 2900 block of McCann Road, after her husband said she cut him with a five-inch serrated steak knife, reports said. Police said the husband was cut on his right cheek and left wrist.
Calls for service
Longview police arrested 25 people, including two juveniles, between Monday and Thursday. The department dispatched officers to 735 calls for service between Monday and Thursday.
