A Longview man remained jailed Tuesday afternoon after police said he was found "passed out" in someone else's vehicle and admitted to taking items from a residence.
Patrick Ryan Ross, 27, was being held on $25,000 bond, charged with burglary of a habitation, burglary of a vehicle, theft of a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm by felon.
Police were dispatched at about 6 a.m. Monday to the 1700 block of West Hoyt Drive for a check-welfare call.
According to arrest reports, Ross was found passed out in the reporting party's vehicle and there were items in the vehicle that did not belong to him.
When officers arrived, Ross appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or narcotics, police said.
During a search of the vehicle, officers found a gun, golf clubs, tools and documents with another person's name on them.
Police said Ross admitted to taking the items from a Terrace Street residence, where two vehicles had also been broken into.
The victims confirmed the items belonged to them.
