Cordell will vie in November general election for Precinct 3 constable

In the Republican primary run-off election held Tuesday, Chuck Cordell was elected constable candidate of Precinct 3 over William "Bill" Paqe.
Cordell garnered 32 votes in early voting, to 24 for Page. He bested Page 151 to 114 in overall voting.
Cordell will face Democratic candidate Ray Copeland in the November general election.
Of 36,096 registered voters in Cass County, 1,496 voted in the run-off election. That's 4.14 percent of local voters.
Results are unofficial at this time, but are reported by the Cass County Clerk's Office Tuesday night.
In the run-off for U.S. Senate, Republican primary, Ted Cruz won a total of 770 local votes to David Dewhurst's 394 votes.
Democrats Paul Sadler and Grady Yarbrough garnered a total of 307 votes, with Sadler winning 242 of those.
The Texas Railroad Commission run-off race between Barry Smitherman and Greg Parker was close.
Parker won 497 votes in Cass County to Smitherman's 489 votes.
John Devine beat David Medina, in Cass County voting, 545 to 457 votes, as the Republican candidate for Texas Supreme Court Place 4.
