ET Football: Longview JV tops Texas High 21-12, more

<strong>JUNIOR VARSITY</strong>

<strong>LONGVIEW 21, TEXAS HIGH 12:</strong> Deionte Wall scored on runs of 10 and 1 yards, and Laurent Johnson paced the defense with two interceptions as the Longview JV A team earned a 21-12 win over Texas High.

Garrett Shields added a 1-yard run for Longview (3-2), and Cody Jenkins booted three extra points. Decord Flanagan recovered a fumble that was forced by Karbohn Macadoo.

Longview visits Rockwall Heath next Thursday.

The Lobo JV B team earned a 32-18 win to improve to 2-1 on the year.

Ca'tavien Barnett scored on a pair of 5-yard runs and added a pair of two-point conversions for Longview. Aric Maxwell caught a 16-yard touchdown pass from Lance Cooper, and Cooper also tossed a 40-yard TD pass to Ki'untrez O'Quinn.

Omar French capped the scoring by recording a safety.

<strong>GLADEWATER 47, HENDERSON 32:</strong> GLADEWATER - James Reese scored on a pair of 60-yard runs, caught a 40-yard touchdown pass from Nick Canaguier and returned a kickoff 90 yards for another score as Gladewater earned a 47-32 win over Henderson.

Mar'Kenneth returned an interception 70 yards for a touchdown and Daryl Polk scored on runs of 8 and 7 yards.

Jaz Tyiska had seven tackles and an interception, and Daylon Gordon added seven tackles for Gladewater.

Gladewater moves to 4-0-1 with the win.

<strong>NINTH GRADE</strong>

<strong>LONGVIEW 36, TEXAS HIGH:</strong> Tylan Miller scored on runs of 40 and 5 yards, and Cameron Castleberry scored once on the ground and once on a reception to lead the Longview A team to a 36-22 win over Texas High.

Austin Moore had a 15-yard TD run, and Castleberry caught a 15-yard TD pass from Jordan Wyatt and added a 1-yard TD run.

Longview (2-3) will host Rockwall Heath next week.

The Longview B team was a 16-14 winner over Texas High to move to 3-1-1 on the year.

Shay Massey threw a 60-yard touchdown pass to Laquintlen Garrison, and Cory Pippins had a 2-point conversion and a 25-yard TD run for Longview. Massey added the other 2-point conversion.

<strong>GLADEWATER 20, SPRING HILL 6:</strong> GLADEWATER - Marcello Jackson scored on a pair of runs, Steven Peden added one scoring run and Keigan Lawler caught a two-point conversion pass from Blake Guthrie as Gladewater moved to 5-0 with a 20-6 win over Spring Hill.

Justice Centers caught two passes for 40 yards, and Austin Blanco paced the defense for Gladewater with 10 tackles.

<strong>EIGHTH GRADE</strong>

<strong>FOSTER 22, FOREST PARK 6:</strong> Desmond Jones threw a touchdown pass and returned an interception for another score, leading Foster to a 22-6 win over Forest Park.

Jones completed the only pass he attempted for 50 yards and a score to Kobe Davis, who also rushed for 30 yards on six carries.

D'Crayvan Polk carried 10 times for 103 yards and added a pair of two-point conversions. Kendrevian White picked up 92 yards and scored once on 11 carries, and Gaylan Wiley was 2-for-2 passing for 20 yards.

Defensive standouts for the 4-0 Dragons were Jones, Kaland Johnson, Ke'undre Wilson, Daajman Taylor and Janari Garland.

For Forest Park in the loss, Jay Head rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown and Da'Jaylon Johnson carried four times for 25 yards. Jordan Stroud caught two passes for 14 yards. John Scott, III had on catch for 12 yards, and Astin Henry had one reception for 15 yards.

Head had two tackles and a pair of stops for losses. Dylan Coppola added six tackles, one stop for a loss and two pass breakups, and Datavious Lister recovered a fumble.

<strong>LUFKIN GOLD 24, JUDSON 8:</strong> LUFKIN - Lufkin Gold held Judson to 175 total yards en route to a 24-8 win.

Keandra Bailey rushed for 43 yards on 11 carries in the loss for Judson, which also got 28 yards from Jakiron Sheffield, 16 from Chase Davis and nine rushing yards and 10 passing yards from Erik Bowen.

Bowen and Malik Garrett intercepted passes for Judson.

<strong>SABINE 20, HARLETON 8:</strong> LIBERTY CITY - Mason Graham rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown and returned an interception 50 yards for another score, leading Sabine to a 20-8 win over Harleton.

Keiran Leroy carried seven times for 70 yards and scored the other touchdown for Sabine, which rushed for 233 yards behind the blocking of Slate Wiseman, Ismael Vega, Jared Rabourn, Michael Potier, Collin Keifer and Andrew Coop.

Defensive standouts for Sabine were Rabourn (fumble recovery), Keifer (fumble recovery), Bo Bates, Wiseman, Graham, Coop and Josh Trice.

<strong>GLADEWATER 34, SPRING HILL 0:</strong> Cameron Calloway scored on runs of 60 and 5 yards to lead Gladewater A past Spring Hill, 34-0.

Michael Batchelor returned a kickoff 65 yards for a touchdown. Darnell McKnight scored on a 12-yard run and had a 2-point conversion. Colton Marsh returned a punt 20 yards for a score, and Clint Starling had a 2-point conversion.

Gladewater's B team got two touchdown runs from Michael Batchelor and one score from Johnny Gordon in an 18-0 win.

<strong>SEVENTH GRADE</strong>

<strong>SABINE 30, HARLETON 0:</strong> LIBERTY CITY - Sabine scored on four plays of more than 60 yards en route to a 30-0 win over Harleton.

Glenn George scored on runs of 60 and 65 yards, Isaiah Smith rushed for 102 yards and had a 67-yard scoring jaunt and Mauro Gallegos returned a kickoff 65 yards for a touchdown for Sabine.

Jon-Michael McKinney recovered a fumble for Sabine.

<strong>GLADEWATER 28, SPRING HILL 0:</strong> Dadrian Strickland threw one touchdown pass and rushed for two more to lead Gladewater past Spring Hill, 28-0.

Strickland tossed a scoring strike to Fernando Serrano and tacked on the two-point conversion. He also scored on runs of 20 and 3 yards.

Mycah Stephens added a 30-yard TD run for Gladewater.

In the B game, Gladewater earned a 24-0 win over Spring Hill with Chance Phillips, Davion Polley, Jarion Garner and Hayden Mesker all scoring touchdowns.
