Naked man retrieved from sewer near Tyler hospital

UPDATE: Police say a naked 19-year-old man has been safely retrieved from a sewer near Trinity Mother Frances and East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.

According to our <a href="http://www.ketknbc.com/news/police-looking-for-naked-man-running-in-the-sewer" target="_blank">news partner KETK</a>, Roemello Lewis was rescued by emergency crews after nearly three hours in an 18-inch-wide sewer pipe. He was then taken into custody.

Tyler Police are searching for a naked 19-year-old man in the sewer near a Tyler hospital.

Don Matin with the Tyler Police Department said rescue efforts are in place to help get the man out of the sewer pipe, according to our <a href="http://www.ketknbc.com/news/police-looking-for-naked-man-running-in-the-sewer" target="_blank">news partner KETK</a>.

The incident happened around 2:30 p.m., when Tyler police said they received a call reporting a patient being held on a peace officer warrant was in the sewers of East Texas Medical Center.

The water department, fire department and sewer technicians are all on scene assisting in the removal of the patient.
