ET Boys Basketball: Williams shines all over the court for Lobos

Cadell Williams made his presence felt on offense and defense in a pair of Longview wins last week, and for his efforts the 6-7 Lobo big man has been named Player of the Week by the Longview News-Journal.
Williams opened the week by scoring 22 points in an 83-66 win over Rockwall-Heath. He scored the first six points of the game, and later scored 11 points during a 16-2 Lobo run that pushed a 41-35 lead to 55-37 in the third period.
On Saturday, Williams had just two points but swatted away five shots in a 55-36 Longview win over Tyler Lee.
The Lobos are 3-0 in District 12-5A play.
In other outstanding performances from around East Texas:
Longview's <em style="bold">Jordan Whitaker</em> had 19 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and three steals in the win over Heath.
Spring Hill's <em style="bold">Matt Williams</em> finished with 10 points, five steals, five assists and four rebounds in a 65-49 loss to Chapel Hill.
White Oak's <em style="bold">Levi Yancy</em> finished with 20 points, 14 rebounds, four assists and three blocks in a 75-70 win over Waskom. Teammate <em style="bold">Kris Anderson</em> finished with 15 points and nine steals in an 88-16 win over Elysian Fields.
Jefferson's <em style="bold">Cordarryl Hale</em> had 11 points, 11 rebounds and 12 blocks, and teammate <em style="bold">Terrance Whitaker</em> finished with 11 points and 11 boards in a 73-64 win over New Diana. In a 63-55 win over Union Grove, Whitaker had 10 points and 12 rebounds, <em style="bold">Devonte Singleton</em> 20 points and 12 rebounds, Hale 13 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks and <em style="bold">David Police</em> 13 points, six assists and five rebounds.
Sabine's <em style="bold">Ashley Dukes</em> had 27 points in a 52-41 loss to Winona.
Quitman's <em style="bold">Lenzie Foley</em> had nine points, seven rebounds and seven assists in a 54-53 win over Grand Saline.
NO. 2 VS. NO. 5
The game of the week in East Texas, and possibly the state, will take place tonight at E.B. Carrington Gymnasium in White Oak when No. 2 ranked White Oak hosts No. 5 Tatum in an early District 17-2A skirmish.
White Oak, the defending Class 2A state champion, was No. 1 until falling to Kountze in the championship game of the Tenaha Tournament. The Roughnecks (19-1) bounced back on Friday to force 39 turnovers in an 88-16 win over Elysian Fields.
Tatum (19-6) notched a 66-23 win at home against Waskom on Friday.
Both teams are unbeaten (3-0) in district play.
Kountze took over the top spot in the Class 2A poll with its win over White Oak. Clarksville is No. 3 in Class 2A.
Other ranked East Texas boys teams include No. 12 Jacksonville in 4A, No. 18 Pleasant Grove in 3A, No. 6 Cayuga, No. 8 San Augustine and No. 23 Tenaha in 1A Division I and No. 5 Laneville in 1A Division II.
DeSoto in Class 5A, Arlington Seguin in 4A, Yates in 3A, Triple A Academy in 1A Division I and Roxton in 1A Division II join Kountze as top-ranked teams this week.
