Jan. 17, 2013 at 11 p.m.
The Longview football team will play just four home games in 2013, but the Lobos will have the opportunity to play at Allen's 1-year-old $65 million stadium as well as making a trek across the border to play in Louisiana.
Longview will open the season against Coppell on Aug. 31 at Allen's Eagle Stadium. After visiting arch-rival Marshall on Sept. 6, the Lobos will take on Olive Branch, Miss. on Sept. 13 at Independence Stadium in Shreveport.
Olive Branch, the 2011 Class 6A Mississippi state champion, replaces North Little Rock on the schedule. Olive Branch finished the 2012 season with an 11-2 record.
The Conquistadors missed the playoffs every season from 1996-2004, but have been a playoff team in each of the last nine years.
The Lobos will host Lufkin on Sept. 20 and then entertain defending District 12-5A champion Mesquite on Sept. 27 before an open date on Oct. 4.
The remainder of the schedule has the Lobos visiting Rockwall Heath on Oct. 11, hosting Mesquite Horn on Oct. 18, visiting North Mesquite (Memorial) on Oct. 25, hosting Tyler Lee on Nov. 1 and visiting Rockwall on Nov. 8.
Longview will scrimmage at John Tyler on Aug. 23.
