Marshals hand Pump Jacks 7-3 loss

DALLAS - Krey Bratsen banged out three hits, and the Texas Marshals overcame a first-inning home run by East Texas to hand the Pump Jacks at 7-3 loss Saturday in Texas Collegiate League play at Dallas Jesuit High School.
The loss snapped a seven-game winning streak by the Pump Jacks and dropped East Texas to 17-16 overall and 2-1 in the second half of TCL play.
The Marshals move to 11-22 and 2-1.
East Texas took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Matthew Dickey doubled and Connor Housers launched a two-run home run. Housers finished the night with three hits, and Dickey had two hits and an RBI.
The Marshals scored once in the bottom oft he first on an RBI single by Chabrielle Pizzarro, and added another run in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI grounder by Bratsen.
An RBI double by Ben McElroy and a run-scoring error in the fifth put the marshals in front 4-2, and the home team tacked on two more runs on two hits in the seventh before Taylor Munden's RBI double in the bottom of the eighth put the Pump Jacks in a 7-2 hole.
East Texas scored once in the top of the ninth when Zach Jones struck out but reached on a dropped ball and Dickey followed with an RBI single to make the final 7-3.
The teams will meet again at 7:05 tonight back at Dallas Jesuit High School.
After an off day on Monday, East Texas will host the annual TCL All-Star Game on Tuesday at Driller Park in Kilgore.
The home run contest is scheduled to kick off All-Star festivities at 6:30 p.m.
