Cane Cutters finish sweep of Pump Jacks

YOUNGSVILLE, La. – Acadiana took advantage of six errors and eight walks to earn a sweep of the East Texas Pump Jacks on Sunday with a 4-1 Texas Collegiate League win at Fabacher Field.
The Cane Cutters (3-7) took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the sixth when Mike Parker drew a bases-loaded walk. After the Pump Jacks (4-5) tied things in the top of the seventh on an RBI single by Ty Marlow, Acadiana pushed across a run in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI single off the bat of Chance Vincent to make it a 2-1 contest.
The 'Cutters put things away in the bottom of the eighth, scoring two runs on one hit and three Pump Jack errors.
East Texas had base runners in each of the first four innings, including a leadoff single by Ryan Hope in the second.
The Pump Jacks are idle tonight and will host league- leading Brazos Valley (10-1) on Tuesday and Wednesday. After visiting Acadiana again on Thursday and Friday, East Texas will host the Texas Marshals on Saturday and Sunday.
All home games are scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at Driller Park in Kilgore.
