The Pump Jacks have an extra day to right the ship.
Travel issues pushed back the Pump Jacks' Thursday night trip to Youngsville, La. to kick off a two-game set with the Acadiana Cane Cutters.
The series will now be a two-game doubleheader, starting at 6 p.m. tonight at Fabacher Field. The two contests will be seven innings, per Texas Collegiate League rules.
The Pump Jacks enter the series having dropped five straight, including two to the Cane Cutters this past weekend on the road. The two teams have split their season meetings, 2-2, with the Pump Jacks taking the first two-game set on June 4-5 at Driller Park in Kilgore.
Pine Tree standout and Stephen F. Austin-bound Garrett McMullen is leading the TCL with a .444 batting average. McMullen has six doubles and seven RBIs for the Pump Jacks (4-7). Kilgore's Matthew Dickey is batting .333 with four RBIs as the Pump Jacks' centerfielder.
Brothers and Longhorn teammates Brooks and Ty Marlow lead the Pump Jacks with 21 RBIs collectively. Combined, the brothers have scored 31 of the Pump Jacks' 66 runs this season. Washington State's J.J. Robinson has 10 RBIs on the season.
The Pump Jacks return to Driller Park on Saturday and Sunday for a two-game series with the Texas Marshals.
