Longview, Marshall featured in Battle of the Border

SHREVEPORT, La. - East Texas rivals Longview and Marshall will play back-to-back games in September at Independence Stadium in Shreveport as the City of Shreveport and the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission holds its annual Battle of the Border High School Football Showcase.
The event, now in its third year, will feature two games on Friday and three on Saturday.
Longview will play the final game of the day on Saturday, Sept. 14, taking on Olive Branch (Miss.) at 7:30 p.m. Marshall is scheduled to play Parkway High School of Bossier City at 5 p.m. on Saturday, with Acadiana High School of Lafayette, La. taking on Neville High School of Monroe, La. at 2 p.m.
On Friday, St. Thomas More High School of Lafayette, La. meets Calvary Baptist Academy of Shreveport at 6 p.m., followed by Bastrop High School of Bastrop, La. vs. Shreveport Byrd at 8:30 p.m.
