There was plenty of movement in Class 2A in the latest Texas Associated Press high school football poll after New Boston's loss to Daingerfield.
The poll, which was released Monday, had Tatum (5-0) up a spot to No. 5 in Class 2A.
Hughes Springs (5-0) moved into the Top 10 for the first time at No. 10.
New Boston, which was previously ranked fourth, dropped out of the Top 10, after dropping a 40-23 decision to Daingerfield. The win allowed Daingerfield to gain some votes in Class 2A. White Oak, which will travel to No. 5 Tatum on Friday, also picked up some votes.
Class 3A remained the same with Gilmer still at the top, Kilgore at third and Carthage at sixth.
Whitehouse held its position at third in Class 4A. The Wildcats also received a first-place vote.
In Class A, Tenaha moved up a spot to third after its win over San Augustine and Chilton's loss to Mart.
Other East Texas teams receiving votes were Malakoff, Corrigan-Camden, Garrison and Waskom in Class 2A.
Joining Gilmer as top-ranked teams this week are Allen in 5A, Aledo in 4A, Cameron Yoe in 2A and Wellington in Class A.
