ET Volleyball: Kilgore, Linden-Kildare notch wins

<strong><a href="http://www.news-journal.com/etvarsity/high_school/schools/kilgore/" target="_blank">KILGORE 3</a>, <a href="http://www.news-journal.com/etvarsity/high_school/schools/chapel_hill/" target="_blank">CHAPEL HILL 0</a>:</strong> KILGORE - Annie Mehringer and Tony Burks combined for 24 kills, and the Kilgore Lady Bulldogs earned a 25-18, 25-17, 25-16 District 16-3A win over Chapel Hill on Friday.

Mehringer finished with 13 kills, three aces and 15 digs for Kilgore, now 3-8 in district play. Burks had five of Kilgore's 13 team aces, adding 11 kills and nine digs. Nichole Flores finished with 14 digs and two aces, and Mikayla Thomas added 22 assists, an ace and six digs.

Kilgore will close out the season at Bullard on Tuesday.

<strong><a href="http://www.news-journal.com/etvarsity/high_school/schools/linden-kildare/" target="_blank">LINDEN-KILDARE 3</a>, <a href="http://www.news-journal.com/etvarsity/high_school/schools/daingerfield/" target="_blank">DAINGERFIELD 0</a>:</strong> LINDEN - Linden-Kildare swept Daingerfield on Friday night (25-16, 25-17, 25-13).

The win puts Linden-Kildare (15-15, 8-5) in a tie with Hooks for third place with one match remaining. Linden-Kildare will be at Redwater on Tuesday, and Hooks will host first-place Hughes Springs.

Shelby Norwood had 14 assists, and Amiyah Brown had 13 assists for Linden-Kildare. Lexi Loizeaux led the way with 12 kills and three blocks.

Other standouts for Linden-Kildare were Alex Hendrix, six kills; Shardai Love, five kills and two aces; Shenari Green, five kills and five blocks; and Haylee Smoak, two kills and two blocks.

Kiyuna Williams led Daingerfield (8-26, 1-12) with seven kills. Cassidy Shaver had six kills and a block. Alyxus Jackson and Tamerra Jackson had eight assists each. Jettia Bradley had seven blocks and wo kills, and Alex Porter added two kills.
