ET Basketball: Kilgore College men dominate Coastal Bend, more

<strong>KILGORE 67, COASTAL BEND 51:</strong> KILGORE – Jamarcus Weatherspoon scored 16 points to lift the Rangers over Coastal Bend Saturday afternoon at Masters Gym.
The win pushes No. 3 Kilgore to 13-0 overall and 4-0 in Region XIV play.
This was the Rangers' first conference game since an 88-83 overtime victory over Blinn Dec. 11 in Brenham. Kilgore picked up a 105-46 non-conference win against Houston Community College on Monday.
The Rangers shot 4 of 9 from long range in the second half on Saturday and held Coastal Bend to 20 percent (4 of 20) on its three-point attempts in the game.
Jonathan Milligan made all three of his three-point attempts on the way to 13 points. Ole Miss pledge Stefan Moody also had 13 points, and he dished out seven assists and recorded three steals.
Trey Porter led Coastal Bend with 16 points.
Kilgore will return to action against San Jacinto at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Pasadena.
<strong>MARY-HARDIN BAYLOR 77, LETOURNEAU 67:</strong> Ladaria Brown knocked down seven three-pointers, but it wasn't enough as the Yellowjackets fell to the Crusaders.
Brown, a former Henderson High School standout, scored a season-high 28 points in the defeat to the 2013 NCAA Division III runner-up. Brown was joined in double figures by senior Justin Jones, who scored 15 points.
The Crusaders (6-4, 4-3 in American Southwest Conference) shot 50.9 percent from the field as James Allen scored a team-high 20 points and Jerard Graham added 18 in the win for Mary-Hardin Baylor.
LeTourneau (2-8, 1-6) will continue its four-game homestand on Thursday against Texas-Dallas at 7:30 p.m.
<strong>MARY-HARDIN BAYLOR 78, LETOURNEAU 67:</strong> Mary-Hardin Baylor scored 49 points in the second half to rally past LeTourneau on Saturday.
LeTourneau held a 32-29 lead at halftime.
LeTourneau (4-5, 2-4) was led by senior Julencia Curtis, who scored 12 points and sophomore Ashley Stephens added 11 in the defeat. LeTourneau got a spark from its bench, which outscored its counterparts by a 31-15 margin.
Mary-Hardin Baylor (4-6, 4-3) was able to land four players in double figures, led by Jovana Miles, who had 20 points and 12 rebounds. Taylor Tucker scored 15 points. Alyssa Dean had 14 points, and Macy Moore added 10 points.
LeTourneau will host Texas-Dallas at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
<strong>HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS</strong>
<strong>LONGVIEW 48, TYLER LEE 45:</strong> TYLER – The Lady Lobos hit seven free throws down the stretch, including the final two by Mikayla Smith to edge the Lady Raiders on Saturday.
Smith scored 19 points to lead Longview. Ravan Chism had 10 points.
Berjae Lewis led Tyler Lee with 21 points.
Longview trailed 39-29 heading into the fourth quarter.
Longview (17-5, 2-2) will host North Mesquite on Tuesday.
<strong>QUITMAN 41, COMMERCE 39:</strong> COMMERCE – Dawn Houck hit a long jumper with 10.2 seconds remaining to lift Quitman past Commerce.
Houck finished with eight points for Quitman. Tori Houck led the way with 12 points. Allie Medlin and Alyssa Harris each added eight points.
Taite McBee led Commerce (0-5 in District 14-2A) with 18 points.
Quitman (7-9, 3-2) will play Edgewood at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Edgewood.
<strong>GILMER 35, HENDERSON 23:</strong> HENDERSON – Jameekia Homer scored 12 points to lift the Lady Buckeyes over the Lady Lions.
Gilmer led Henderson by two points heading into the fourth quarter before closing the game with a 15-5 advantage.
Gilmer (11-9, 2-3) will play at Spring Hill on Jan. 10.
<strong>CARLISLE 34, BECKVILLE 26:</strong> PRICE – Hannah Hamiltton scored eight points to lift the Lady Indians past Beckville.
Devin Woodall led Beckville with six points.
Beckville will play Tuesday at LaPoynor.
<strong>HIGH SCHOOL BOYS</strong>
<strong>WHITE OAK 92, ELYSIAN FIELDS 35:</strong> ELYSIAN FIELDS – Hayden Nichols scored 21 points to help the Roughnecks rout Elysian Fields.
Nichols also had five rebounds and five assists.
Gabe Michael scored 17 points for White Oak. Slaton Teague and Slade Sutton each had 15 points.
Anthony Diehl led Elysian Fields with 12 points.
White Oak (5-3, 1-1) will play at Tatum on Tuesday.
<strong>BULLARD 67, GLADEWATER 43:</strong> BULLARD – Caleb Williams scored 17 points, but the Bears fell short.
Gladewater was shut out in the first quarter as Bullard jumped out to a 19-0 lead.
Major Tennison led Bullard with 18 points.
Gladewater (4-8, 1-2) will host Kilgore on Tuesday.
<strong>GILMER 48, HENDERSON 45:</strong> HENDERSON – Malik Jackson scored 12 points to lead the Buckeyes over the Lions.
Zach Spears added seven points for Gilmer.
Gilmer (8-3, 2-1) will play at Spring Hill on Friday.
