Vacation Bible schools abound during summer months

A plethora of area churches will host vacation Bible schools to give children a chance to enjoy fun activities, learn about God, and fellowship in a church environment.

McCary's Chapel United Methodist Church, 5758 Old Highway 135, Kilgore, will host Vacation Bible School June 16-20 June 20. Early registration will be 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. June 10 in the Fellowship Hall of McCary's Chapel UMC, regular registration will run through June 16. Mobberly Baptist Church, 625 E. Loop 281, Longview will host Vacation Bible School from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. June 23-26.

Children entering kindergarten to 6th grade as of August, 2014 are eligible to attend. Bible school includes recreation, Bible stories, crafts, snacks and spy activities.

Kick off will be during the 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. hours June 22 in preschool and children's rooms.

There will be a free family hot dog lunch and movie, "Rocket Pack Jack and the Babylon Virus," after the last service at the Longview and Marshall campuses.

Trinity Baptist Church, 5041 Estes Parkkway, Longview, will host Vacation Bible School from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. June 22-26.

The theme will be LifeWay's Vacation Bible School 2014 - Agency D3: Discover. Decide. Defend.

Winterfield United Methodist, 2616 Tryon Road, Longview, is hosting Vacation Bible School from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. July 13-17. Registration deadline is July 17.

Theme will be "Weird Animal VBS."

New Beginnings Baptist Church, 2137 East George Richey Road, Longview, is hosting Vacation Bible School from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. June 8-11 in the children's building for students in kindergarten through fourth grade. The theme will be "Alive."

Family Nite Alive will be June 11 in the Worship Center.

Longview First United Methodist Church, 400 N. Fredonia St., Longview, is hosting Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. June 23-26.

Kickoff will be June 22 for students 4 years old through fourth grade.

Fellowship Baptist Church, 1818 Springhill Road, Longview, will host Vacation Bible School 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. July 20-24 for children who have completed kindergarten through sixth grade.

Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Longview, 3800 Judson Road, Longview, will host Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to noon July 14-18.

First Baptist Church Longview, 209 E. South Street, Longview will host Vacation Bible School June 16-19.

The theme is "Under Construction.

Children from pre-kindergarten through 6th grade are eligible to attend.
